Debate Training

Position | argue | make an impact

In a debate, different positions and arguments come together. The key is to present your own position convincingly, respond to opposing views and keep both your communication objective and your audience in mind.

You practise moving between different levels of argumentation, responding strategically to what others say and using the bridging technique to return to your own key messages. At the same time, you refine your personal impact through your voice, choice of words and body language.

You will learn and practise how to…

clearly define your role and communication objective

position yourself clearly and convincingly in a debate

formulate your key messages concisely and precisely

structure, justify and substantiate your arguments

move between different levels of argumentation

respond strategically to arguments and opposing positions

use bridging to move from counterarguments to your own key messages

reach your audience with clear, concrete and vivid arguments
